Jacquie's page.. Jacqueline
Cordova was born in the Oakland Hills, spent a few teen Jacquie
was forturnate to have two mentors successively; Scotty After receiving her degrees, Jacquie moved to Westwood, changing her focus to landscape for the next several years, drawing inspiration and encouragement from the majesty of Goodrich Meadows, and the Keddie Ridge area. Since 1978, Jacquie has taught at Lassen College, the CA Correctional Center through the William James Foundation, and worked with children on numerous projects in the Westwood area. She also created murals of local history and folklore, using acrylics. Many of these murals have been removed due to water damage or renovation, but some of them can still be seen. In 1983, after completing the first mural painted in Susanville, Jacquie started teaching at Westwood High School, earned her teaching credential at CSU Chico, and started teaching K-8 at Fletcher Walker Elementary in 1986. In
addition to traveling, Jacquie has a real love for teaching Art, and for creating
in a wide variety of styles and media. Her work has moved from painting people
in oils, to painting landscapes in oils, to painting both subjects in acrylic
murals. Because of student demand, she has studied watercolor over the last six
years, and has come to love that medium. Taking a class from Debbie Anderson at
Lassen College has been a source of inspiration for creating fine Raku pots. | ![]() |
